It is also the authors' responsibility to ensure that the articles emanating from a particular institution are submitted with the approval of the necessary institution

Manuscript Requirements

Please include all the requested info into the 2-column template file, embedding in the text also all the figures/tables.

Preparation of Figures

Upon submission of an article, authors are supposed to include all figures and tables in the WORD file of the manuscript. Figures and tables should not be submitted in separate files. All figures should be cited in the paper in a consecutive order. In addition to submitting figures within your final manuscript, figures should be submitted individually, separate from the manuscript upon request of the Editor or the peer-reviewers (especially concerning pictures of whole gels or microscope imaging data).

Preparation of Tables

Tables should be cited consecutively in the text. Every table must have a descriptive title and if numerical measurements are given, the units should be included in the column heading. Vertical rules should not be used.

Corrected proofs must be returned to the publisher within 2-3 days of receipt. The publisher will do everything possible to ensure prompt publication. It will therefore be appreciated if the manuscripts and figures conform from the outset to the style of the journal.

Editorial Policies

JCvD is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes publication malpractice and conflicts of interest very seriously (see our Author Conditions). Personal, financial and professional affiliations or relationships can be perceived as conflicts of interest. All Authors, Editors, and all Reviewers are required to disclose any actual and potential conflicts of interest at submission or upon accepting an editorial or review assignment. When reporting experiments on human subjects, the Authors should indicate whether the procedures followed were in accordance with the ethical standards of the responsible committee on human experimentation (institutional and national) and with the Helsinki Declaration of 1975, as revised in 2013 (JAMA 2013;310:2191–2194). JCvD will not publish manuscripts involving human subjects if the Authors cannot provide proof of having obtained written informed consent. When informed consent has been obtained it must be indicated in the published article. When reporting experiments on animals, authors should be asked to indicate whether the institutional and national guide for the care and use of laboratory animals was followed and if the Institutional Committee approved the protocols described in the manuscript.
